May Habib
Co-Founder & CEO, WriterMay Habib is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Writer, and one of the most compelling voices in enterprise AI today. She is Lebanese-Canadian by background, and her journey to founding one of the leading enterprise AI companies in the world is a story of entrepreneurial courage, deep business expertise, and a clear-eyed view of what large organisations actually need from AI technology — as opposed to what the AI industry often assumes they need.
Before founding Writer, May built a distinguished career in financial technology and business strategy. She co-founded Cecelia Health, a health technology company, and before that worked in senior roles at financial services companies. This background in regulated industries — finance and healthcare — gave her a visceral understanding of the compliance, accuracy, and security requirements that large enterprises cannot compromise on. She knew from direct experience that the AI tools being built for consumers and small businesses would not meet the bar that banks, healthcare systems, and Fortune 500 companies needed.
May founded Writer on the conviction that enterprise companies deserved AI that was built specifically for them — AI that understood their brand, respected their compliance requirements, kept their data private, and produced content accurate enough to be trusted in high-stakes communications. She has spoken extensively about the difference between AI that is impressive in a demo versus AI that is reliable enough for business-critical work, and Writer's entire product philosophy reflects this distinction.
Under her leadership, Writer has grown from a startup into a company with hundreds of enterprise clients including major Fortune 500 companies. May is known for her clear communicative style — making complex AI concepts understandable to business leaders who need to make real decisions about AI adoption — and for her ability to navigate the enterprise sales processes, procurement requirements, and change management challenges that determine whether AI actually gets adopted at scale inside large organisations.
