Greg Brockman is an American computer scientist and entrepreneur who co-founded OpenAI and currently serves as its President.

Greg Brockman is an American software engineer and technology executive. He is the co-founder and President of OpenAI. Prior to OpenAI, he made significant contributions to the payment processing company Stripe, where he served as the company's first Chief Technology Officer.

Early Life & Education

Brockman grew up in North Dakota, where he developed a passion for mathematics and programming. He attended Harvard University and later transferred to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), but eventually dropped out to join the tech industry and build scalable infrastructure projects.

Stripe and OpenAI

As the first CTO of Stripe, Brockman grew the engineering team from 4 to over 250 employees and architected much of its modern core payment stack. In 2015, he left Stripe to co-found OpenAI. He led the technical development of GPT-3, GPT-4, and the RLHF (Reinforcement Learning from Human Feedback) models that power ChatGPT, serving as a hands-on engineer and manager.
