Introduction
Yoshua Bengio is a French-born Canadian computer scientist. He is a pioneer in deep learning and co-recipient of the 2018 ACM Turing Award alongside Geoffrey Hinton and Yann LeCun.
Research & Contributions
Bengio's work pioneered feedforward neural language models, attention mechanisms, and deep generative architectures. He founded Mila, the Montreal Institute for Learning Algorithms, one of the world's largest deep learning research centers.
AI Safety Advocacy
Following the rapid launch of generative AI models, Bengio has focused on safe deployment policies. He was appointed by the UN to advise on global AI risk strategies and signatures of safe development practices.
